  • 23 March, 2023 | 11am CET

This month’s community call is happening this Thursday at 11:00 am UTC and will feature Mustapha  Dauda from NoniHub makerspace in Ghana. Mustapha will talk about: The challenges and opportunities of open hardware development in Africa.

Mustapha is an engineer with a background in Electronics, IoT, and Robotics systems, and also has a deep interest in the areas in Science of Biology, and Physics. He is a self-taught Biomimicry (innovations inspired by nature) person who loves to combine the principles and designs of the things that already exist in nature with engineering solutions, (for instance, by studying how Dew is formed we can replicate this natural phenomenon to create a device that can extract water from the air).

His organization, NoniHub Makerspace, focuses on creating an open platform for research into science and engineering and how to identify societal problems and solve them using open science knowledge. They do training in hardware prototyping and development and also create awareness about open science technologies as well.
