2024 Africa Open Science Hardware Summit

Theme: Making Open Science Hardware Ubiquitous for a Sustainable Africa

This year’s AfricaOSH Summit will focus on promoting the use of open science hardware in Africa.
The aim is to make it more accessible and sustainable on the continent, covering topics such as reducing electronic waste, promoting circular economy practices, and developing hardware that meets local needs. The summit will also look at the opportunities and challenges of open science hardware in Africa, while fostering innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.  There will also be sessions on policy and advocacy.

The three-day summit will provide a platform for participants to continue discussions that began in previous summits, as well as give an opportunity for new members to join the community. Members of the Africa Open Science Hardware community will be able to showcase their projects and collaborations through presentations, co-creation sessions, breakout sessions, panel discussions, and workshops. The summit aims to facilitate conversations about the progress of the Africa OSH community and the future envisioned by the community.
